Kuzen Otel - Adults Only

We had a pleasant stay, helped along by how friendly and kind the manager, Ms. Nimet, and the employees were. The hotel is conveniently located, and it also has a very good restaurant that I'd strongly suggest to anyone visiting Kadikoy.

The staff were helpful and the service was good. The location is excellent, with the metro, markets, pharmacies and other things you need nearby. It's good for youngsters, though naturally noisy at night, which I knew in advance. There's no elevator, but that's common for 3-star hotels in Istanbul. I slept in the afternoon, so they didn't clean my room for 3 days. I'd have preferred cleaning in the morning rather than after 1-2 pm. It's not the best or the worst, and worth the money.

We left early and found another hotel. Until 6 am, drunk people were screaming and singing in the street, and we could barely sleep. The mattress was very old and bad, the safe was broken, as another review had also mentioned, the bathroom sink leaked, and the AC barely cooled the room. Nothing about this hotel was pleasant, and at this high price I wouldn't recommend it. If you do have to stay, avoid room 101.

The good location earns the extra star, and that's it. The room was untidy, and the bath towel was wet and poorly placed, so we suspected it had been used and asked for a fresh one. The receptionist then started questioning how many people were in the room. I explained politely that I was going to the airport in a couple of hours and the towel was wet, so we wanted a replacement. He handed it over with an attitude, which I ignored at first. After we returned from a walk, he again said 3 people couldn't be in one room, even for a visit or a short stay before going to the airport. I've never heard of that at any kind of place, from hostels to 5 stars hotels. He was extremely rude, said we could leave, and threatened to cancel our reservation. He refused to apologize and only did so after we made a big scene. While everyone else came over to calm things down, he just sat there ignoring what was happening, acting like he was the boss or owner. If he is the owner, I'd tell everyone to run because all you get is anger. If he's an employee, get a new receptionist with some sense and a proper attitude.
