My husband and I met in Istanbul for one night while he was working abroad and I had errands in Turkey. Instead, we had a sleepless, restless night, and it was the worst hotel room experience I've had. The hallway smelled awful, with trash outside every room door on my floor. Inside, there was an emergency exit directly in the room, connected to other floors, and it felt so insecure that someone could come in at any time. There was no key for the bedroom door when I wanted to lock it. One side of the bed was broken and made you slide toward the floor. There was lots of noise in the middle of the night, strange red lipstick or nail polish marks on the walls, and a hole in the couch. Even the layout was frustrating. For a place calling itself LAGOM, meaning minimal living, there was a coffee table in a tiny sitting area where you couldn't pass through or sit. The curtains were browned and greyed, clearly from smoking inside. A terrible, unforgettable stay.

The rooms were spotless, the beds really comfortable, and the reception staff were welcoming and polite. They were always ready to help with whatever we needed. It's in a great spot near shops, bakeries, coffee shops and train stations. I'll definitely stay here again when I'm back in Istanbul.

Lady Saida was so well trained and handled all our requests with a smile. We needed an extra pot or pan, and she got it for us. Our family loved her, and we plan to come back. The rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, and service was quick. We had a wonderful holiday at Lagom Hotel, within walking distance of Nişantaşı and Taksim. Thank you, especially Saida. I was in room 21 and felt so at home there. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, and the service was really good. Everyone was polite and genuine, and we got along well. Saide was especially cheerful and sincere. She cleaned so thoroughly she practically dazzled us, like sunshine. She was lovely, and thanks to her the holiday felt peaceful and happy. The other employees were genuine too and did their jobs well. I want to thank every one of them. I liked the hotel, even though the location was a little bad. I was still satisfied and will bring my relatives here soon.

The staff were kind, friendly and very responsive, especially at reception. The location is great, with a supermarket nearby, and the kitchen is fully equipped except there's no microwave. What got to me were the cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom, the poor cleaning, and the awful internet. It only worked well early in the morning, from 4 am to 11 am. Good luck 👍
