Leylak Suite

Leylak Suite was a great place for our family. The staff were welcoming, and the security team were especially nice and helpful. There's parking on site, and it's close to Taksim. I'd happily recommend it and visit again. Thanks you🙏

The service was the best part of our stay. The front desk team were welcoming and helpful, let us check in early after our 10 hour flight, arranged airport transfers, and extended our stay at short notice. We had a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchen for the family, but the room itself was quite modest. We got one towel per person for 3 days, the couch had cigarette burn holes, and toiletries were just shampoo and soap. Cleanliness could be better too. Walking barefoot on the floor felt sticky and uncomfortable, and housekeeping came once in 3 days. The pool and sauna are only open 9am-7pm, which left little time to use them when we were out exploring. The hotel is near Taksim, the transportation hub, but at the bottom of a steep hill. My father uses a wheelchair, and pushing him up was too difficult, so we took a taxi every day. Good value for families, but be ready for that hill.

We were impressed by the security boys in the lobby, who were diligent and pleasant, and by the Iranian housekeeper, though she spoke very little English. The apartment itself was a different story. It was advertised as luxury, but it wasn't. There was a piping problem above the showers, and the ceiling literally flaked and fell while we showered. We asked to leave and were offered two other rooms to inspect. They had similar problems, though not as bad, and we were told this was common in these apartments. The beds in both apartments we stayed in were uncomfortable and noisy when we turned over or got up. Sound insulation was poor, and the area was noisy. Construction was happening across the street during the day, with jack hammering after 12am at night. The building is on a steep, narrow road, and cars and motorcycles rev up to climb it, making family walks unpleasant. The dishes and utensils were very limited, with no bowls or tea spoons, for a start. We asked for a refund for the nights left, but they refused. I was fooled by all the 5 star comments and honestly can't see what people found impressive about their stay. I have photos and videos of the apartment's condition and the street and construction noise. Don't do it, find elsewhere.

The apartment was very nice, but getting there wasn't great. It's on a very steep slope up from the main street.
