We picked Royal Galata Tower Hotel for our 24 hours in Istanbul because we wanted to be near the center. The balcony on the front side had a beautiful view, and the hotel was clean. Check-in and check-out were quick, and the receptionist helped arrange a cab to the airport for the next morning. The streets around it are lively and busy, and at first I felt uneasy because it seemed like anyone could get into the area. We didn't run into anything unsafe, though, and felt comfortable during our stay. Getting there can be awkward with lots of luggage: the lanes are small, the streets go steeply up and down, and there are crowds on foot. Taxis may also take a while to reach the hotel. For the price, it was a good place to stay right in the middle of things.

The neighborhood made the stay especially convenient, with shops, bars, restaurants, and local attractions nearby. There are also Spa facilities in the building. My room had lovely modern decor, was spotless, and had been prepared with care. I visited Royal Galata Hotel in March/April 2025, and the staff made me feel very welcome from the start. Barış was a great help with maps, suggestions for places to visit, and tips for getting around by taxi, tram, train, and boat. Everyone took care over the details and treated me professionally. It was an unforgettable stay.

I left unhappy and don't plan to come back. The room itself was fine, but sound carried through the poor insulation and made proper rest difficult. Getting in was difficult too, with very high steps and no luggage lift. Traveling alone, and especially without a man, I couldn't count on useful help with my suitcase from reception. The transfer was another letdown. The hotel's price was already much higher than elsewhere, and the driver demanded more for choosing a toll road on the way to the airport. I ended up paying 50 euros instead of the promised 35.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and our room was clean and cozy. Royal Galat Hotel is ideally placed, a short walk from Galata Tower and close to public transport. I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul.

Really central, with all the sights close by, and the staff are friendly. The rooms are clean, though a little small. It's actually a nice hotel.
