Nil Hotel

The rooms are really spacious and extremely clean overall, and the cleaning lady and two receptionists are absolutely lovely. I’ve stayed three times. It’s an old hotel that could use some updates, with spots of mold in the bathroom and worn furniture. The night shift guy is a bit strange. They used to leave water, instant coffee, and tea in the room, but on my latest stay there was only tea.

The room was fine for the price, though doors and rooms don’t block much noise. I’d come back, but I’d ask for a proper outside facing window since many rooms look into the building’s interior. The hotel is cozy and well priced, in a lovely spot near restaurants, bars, markets, and shops. Breakfast is a nice self service spread prepared in the morning. The welcome was friendly, especially from Ugur, who helped us with several things and kept us from falling for scams.

The evening receptionist, Ugur, deserves special thanks. He was respectful, quick to respond, and very helpful whenever we needed something. Great hospitality. The hotel itself was clean and in a great location, and we had a very good stay.

The day shift staff were wonderful, especially the older man who looked after the guests and the woman at reception. The night shift was a different story. One staff member asked us for money, and when we said no, he tried to pressure us into booking an airport taxi so he could get money from us.
