Novus Hotel Istanbul

The receptionist said they'd arrange an airport taxi for 40 euros, but the driver asked us for 50 euros and said he knew nothing about the quoted price. When I tried calling the receptionist, they no longer answered. Reception staff had been somewhat helpful and friendly, but often came across as arrogant, possibly because their English was very limited. The room was in terrible shape for cleanliness and upkeep: cockroaches in the bathtub, half-detached, hanging, very dirty curtains, and a damaged floor. For the price I paid, I knew not to expect too much, but this level of cleanliness was absolutely unacceptable. The furniture seemed to be of good quality, and it's clear the hotel was once in very good condition, but now it's no longer maintained and feels completely neglected. I won't return and can't recommend it. The poor cleanliness, maintenance, and management's unprofessional behavior made this a major disappointment and showed disregard for guest comfort and quality.

The rooms are modern and new, and the staff were very helpful with all my questions. Breakfast was perfect too. The location is central, making it easy to reach all the important areas.

The generous breakfast and friendly, helpful front desk were definite pluses. This is a clean, functional little hotel in a great location, and good value for the price. The room was quite compact; even with one suitcase, it felt tight. Comfortable as a 3-star mini hotel, but don't come expecting luxury.

Getting around was easy from this central location, with trams, the metro, and buses close by. I could walk to both the Grand Mosque and Grand Bazaar. The staff were so friendly and helpful that I felt right at home, and the spotless room and bathroom made me even more comfortable. I loved staying here, would recommend it to friends or family visiting, and would happily come back.
