Pera Capitol

Nearby nightclubs kept loud music going until 3-4 a.m., making it almost impossible to sleep. The hotel also sits on a steep hill, so getting there means climbing, and the room was very small. I booked two Queen Rooms, which should clearly accommodate four people, but because I selected two guests when booking, the hotel insisted on extra charges for the other two. Agoda and the hotel both called it “hotel policy,” but no policy was ever shown. It felt unfair and misleading. The stay was frustrating and exhausting. If I’d known, I never would have booked.

At 2:30 a.m., staff violently woke me by banging on my door and yelling that I had to check out. They said they didn’t know who I was and had no record of who checked me in. It was terrifying and disruptive, and I felt unsafe and completely disrespected. The staff’s unprofessional behavior made an already stressful situation humiliating. I’ve never experienced such a lack of basic hospitality. I hope the hotel goes bankrupt. They clearly don’t care about guests, and the staff should face consequences. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Avoid this place and save your money.

The breakfast was excellent, and I appreciated the hotel’s thoughtful effort to provide Suhoor during Ramadan. Mr. Halit, Mr. Ridvan, and the reception team were especially helpful and professional. Everyone at the hotel spoke English very well, which made communication easy. I stayed at pera capitol hotel from March 25 to April 3, and the service was great from arrival. The hotel was spotlessly clean, with housekeeping maintaining a high hygiene standard. I also liked the key operated safe box for storing valuables. One small suggestion: more cameras in the corridors would add security, although they already have cameras at reception and security was excellent. Thanks to the whole team for a comfortable stay. I’ll definitely return.

The staff were extremely rude and tried to scam me when I raised an issue involving an extra payment. They called me a liar and cursed at me because I disagreed with the amount they wanted to charge. That was a complete failure of professionalism and character. This is the worst hotel in Istanbul, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There are many nicer hotels nearby at reasonable prices, so do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.
