The location worked well for us, right in central Istanbul near Taksim Square, the metro, buses, shops, and restaurants. The hotel itself was quiet, the staff were friendly, and the fragrance sticks in the lobby and room kept things smelling fresh. We also appreciated having a fridge and Turkish TV channels. The room didn’t look as clean or modern as the Booking photos suggested. The sheets, pillows, duvet, mattresses, and towels all had stains, and the sheets felt dusty and very thin. We asked several times for fresh bedding, but the replacements still didn’t seem clean. The double bed was two single mattresses zipped together, with an uncomfortable ridge in the middle that gave us back pain. The bed’s LED light, shown in the listing, was broken. There was a yellow mark in the toilet that the brush couldn’t remove, and the bathroom was a little cramped. The room doors need renovation. There’s no elevator, though that didn’t bother us, and no street sign to help you spot the hotel. Looking up the address on Maps helped, since the entrance is right beside a barber shop.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with a little kitchen where we could bring in food. Tea, coffee, and water from the minibar were available too. The staff were very helpful, and the location is excellent. Good value for the price.

We ended up extending our Istanbul trip, but this place was already booked, so they found us another hotel and moved our luggage over without any hassle. We’d booked for two days and would gladly stay here again if we could get a room next time. The location is hard to beat, a few steps from Istiklal Street and about a 2-3 minute walk to Taksim Square. You can also come up from the bottom of the street by taxi, or approach from Taksim Square. The apartment was just like the listing, with clean rooms, fair prices, Wi-Fi, TV, and a small kitchen with basic items. There’s no elevator, but the reception guy carried our luggage to and from the room. Kenan and Khayal, the kind, friendly owner and staff, replied quickly and made it easy to find the place and settle in. It’s on Bekar street NO:15, next to Omer Berbershop. Excellent service. I couldn’t book it on my second trip because it was full.

The staff were attentive, and it’s a good hotel for a short visit. The location is great, though street noise could make it hard to sleep if you’re a light sleeper.
