Roco Beyoglu Hotel

The staff at Roco Beyoglu made my stay in Istanbul especially enjoyable. They were welcoming, very polite, and quick to help whenever I needed something. The hotel itself is small, cozy, and spotless, so it felt relaxing from the minute I arrived. I’d happily recommend it, and next time I’ll stay here again ❤️

We found the room clean, comfortable, and well cared for, and the staff were always friendly and ready to help. Getting around was easy too: the hotel is only a three-minute walk from Taksim Square, with a bus stop and metro station close by. I really enjoyed staying here and would recommend it. I’ll choose it again on a future Istanbul trip.

I spent two weeks trying to sort out a refund after my flight was canceled, and the whole thing was exhausting. I had to gather screenshots and news reports, and call Booking.com three times. In the end, Booking.com stepped in, apologized for how the hotel had handled things, and refunded my money. My March 6 flight had a layover in Dubai, but it was canceled because the US and Iran were at war. Dubai’s airport was literally a target at the time, and I couldn’t travel to Turkey. This was completely outside my control, but the hotel refused to refund the €187 because I was past the free cancellation deadline. I showed them evidence of the canceled flight. They still told me Turkey was safe and that the missiles had hit hundreds of miles away, so I should come anyway. I said it wasn’t possible and I wasn’t going to risk my life. They kept pointing to Booking.com’s policy and told me to take it up with the airline, even with the proof in front of them. I’m sharing this as a warning to other travelers. The hotel showed no empathy while I was stranded overseas, and seemed to care more about the money than my safety or peace of mind. I would avoid booking here.

The hotel is close to Taksim, which is handy for getting around. But be prepared for possible power cuts. I booked four nights, and the electricity went out on the second evening and stayed off until the next morning. When I asked, staff couldn’t say when it would return, only that they were working on it and I should wait. I checked out early and asked for a refund. We had to carry our luggage down from the fifth floor ourselves, as the staff didn’t help.
