Sofia Corner Hotel

The staff were friendly, kind, and helpful, and the hotel is in a very good location. It’s really a bed and breakfast, though, and the small room and bathroom weren’t comfortable or practical. The sheets and pillows were stained and had hair on them. There was also a lot of dust behind the bed and cupboard, with dust particles around the beds and wardrobes.

The breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly. The hotel’s location is great, too. If I return to Istanbul, I’ll choose it again. Thanks for everything, Mr. Hanifi.

For the price, Sofia Corner Hotel was a decent choice. We visited in February and felt a bit cold at first, but the receptionist showed us how to switch on the radiator manually, which helped. Breakfast was good, and the hygiene could have been better, though it was still acceptable. The host was friendly to communicate with, and parking right in front was convenient. We could hear everything from neighboring rooms through the thin walls, which was disruptive. It was a solid stay for the price, with some things that could be improved. 🙂

The one thing I really loved was the hotel cat Sophia, the cuddliest cat I’ve met. The breakfast was only okay, so I’d eat outside and leave it off the room booking. At this price, you can find a decent hotel in Fatih. I booked as a solo traveler based on the reviews and pictures, but my room was claustrophobic, with nowhere to put my luggage or walk freely. The view from my room was a construction dump site, so the photos may show a particular room. The washroom was very small, and my bath was clogged. When I asked to have it cleared, they only cleaned my room and put off dealing with the bath until the next day. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
