Stayso The House Hotel

The bus route is just a minute’s walk away and goes to all the attractions. We were really glad we chose this hotel: the staff were welcoming and helpful, and our room was very clean. The reception team were accommodating, and the breakfast and restaurant staff and manager gave extremely good service. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday, and they greeted him with a slice of cake. Highly recommend it.

The room had a good view, and it might have been fine if there were fewer problems. I still can’t accept that the hotel gave us a room in this condition when the defects seemed like things they should have known about. We ended up booking somewhere else that same day so we could finally enjoy our holiday. I can’t recommend this hotel. The stay was a waste of nerves and energy, exactly the kind of stress you don’t want on vacation. At check-in, the staff were friendly and let us into the room early, which we appreciated. Then we found a lot of black mold in the bathroom. The TV and kettle didn’t work, and the windows had tissues stuffed into them but still weren’t airtight, so cold air came in strongly. The bed wasn’t properly clean either. When we opened the blanket, there were black marks near the pillow. I reported everything at reception right away and showed them a video of the mold. The hotel was fully booked, so they offered us a suite for the last day of our five-day stay. I appreciate that they tried to offer a solution, but I was shocked to hear that the mold “had not been there for long.” I’m no specialist, which is why I added photos to this review, but to me it looked like it had been visible for months and definitely hadn’t appeared overnight. We had to start the first day feeling stressed and uncomfortable, expected to sleep in a dirty bed, with mold, broken appliances, and drafts coming through the leaking windows.

We traveled with our kids, and the staff upgraded us to a bigger room so we’d be comfortable. Valet parking was easy too: we handed over the car and they took care of everything. Stayso Hotel was great value for money, with a central location about 10 to 15 minutes from almost everything in the city center. The hotel was clean and high quality, and the service felt professional and thoughtful. A fantastic stay, highly recommended for families and anyone visiting Istanbul.

I keep coming back to Stayso hotel, this was my 10th visit. It has a special charm and a real boutique hotel feel, and the rooms are designed well and very comfortable. The ones with a terrace are especially nice. Pay a little more than for a standard room and you can enjoy morning coffee or evening wine in style. The food is delicious, and the menu is well designed and executed. Trust me, I’m a chef and Iron Chef Indonesia. Mr Tuncay and his team do a great job, and with all these reasons it’s hard for me to stay anywhere else. I’d definitely recommend the hotel to anyone looking for sincere hospitality.
