The breakfast was okay, and the dining staff were quick, but staying here was a terrible decision. I’d booked a non-smoking room, yet mine stank of cigarettes. After several complaints they moved me to one that smelled less bad. The internet was nearly useless, and the walls were so thin I could hear neighbors talking. There were stains on the mattress and in the bathroom. The cleaning person also threw away underwear I’d left in a bag beneath the sink. That’s never happened to me before. Don’t book.

The room was spacious and modern, and the breakfast buffet was good. But the Wi-Fi was so slow we could barely use the internet. A couple of times I asked for room service and was told to come downstairs for what I needed, which makes me wonder why the hotel offers no room service. They did come up to fix the safe box when it got locked, and I thank them for that. After seven days, we asked to check out one hour late. Reception said the hotel was full and there’d be an extra charge for the hour. How could we pay for an extra hour if the hotel was full? Horrible customer service.

It’s my first time traveling to Istanbul, and today is my birthday. My boyfriend bought a bottle of wine so we could celebrate, but the bottle opener he got from reception was broken. He went back to ask for another, and they said they didn’t have one. At 9 pm, he had to go to a shop far away to buy one. The bathroom cleaning was below standard. The room was fine, but the air conditioning didn’t work.

The receptionists were extremely nice and helpful. They let me stay an hour past checkout when they could, and the lobby was cool and fresh while I waited. But I felt so disgusted by the room that I couldn’t sleep comfortably, and I’m glad it was only one night. Never again. I arrived around midnight to a fifth-floor room that I’d paid 160 tl for. It smelled very bad, coming from a shower that was black with mold. One pillow had black dots all over it, also mold. The minibar was supposed to have chocolates and other things, but apparently they no longer fill them. There were two bottles of water, a kettle, and a few random tea and coffee packets. With the window open, which faced another building, I could hear cars almost constantly day and night. The air conditioning didn’t work at all. Breakfast was poor. The only edible things were boiled eggs, bread, olives, tomato, and cucumber. The milk tasted strange, the cheese and jams were low quality, and there was no butter. There were lots of slamming doors in the lobby. I thought the place looked good in the photos, but I was disgusted by it in person.
