Sura Concept Hotel

The room was very clean and comfortable, and the service was really nice. Sura Concept is the best hotel in this area, with Hagia Sofi, Sultanahmet and other places close by. A big thanks to Fatima too!

The location is worth the price, though the street has lots of restaurants with staff out front trying to pull people in. If you want to be left alone, just say you've already eaten. The room design is nice and the small size was expected, but the curtain and light controls are fiddly. The curtains sometimes open on their own, and in the dark it's hard to tell which button you're pressing. The shower drain was poor, the bidet pressure too low, and there was only one toilet roll. Housekeeping were lovely and cleaned well. The lady with short brown hair who checked us in was good and attentive, but reception was usually empty. When someone was there, it was often an intern who didn't understand English. We had to call, and were then told to walk to the other hotel reception. There isn't much security either, anyone can enter the building at any time. The pool and breakfast are at the other two hotels, which wasn't made clear when we booked. Breakfasts suck, so I'd go out to eat. If you can, stay at Sura Design Hotel or Sura Sophia hotel instead. For this hotel, I'd suggest having someone at reception all the time, explaining clearly that breakfast and the pool are in the other hotels, and leaving more than one toilet roll in each room.

Although the hotel was newly built, be prepared to be made to move to their sister hotel at 2230 hrs because of flooding. They promised compensation, but I haven't heard anything since. Stay at your own risk.

The rooms at SURA CONCEPT were modern and the location central, but the way we were treated made the stay awful. We were three couples visiting Turkey in October for both vacation and business, and had paid in full for all three bookings through Booking.com weeks beforehand. When we got there, reception was empty. Someone came after we called and waited about 10 minutes. The woman at the desk barely spoke English and said there were no rooms at SURA CONCEPT. We were sent to SURA HAGIA SOPHIA Hotel, where they also said there was nothing available. After we raised our voices, suddenly one room at SURA CONCEPT appeared, along with an offer of a family room at Hagia Sophia. We were couples and had no intention of sharing, so we refused the small apartment with two bedrooms and one shared bathroom. More complaints followed, apparently without bothering them, and then another room at SURA CONCEPT somehow turned up. I honestly think they were still finishing construction while we spoke. One couple accepted the mini-apartment at Hagia Sophia, which looked nowhere near as nice as the SURA CONCEPT rooms; the other two couples took the rooms that had appeared there. After hours on the road, dragging our luggage from one hotel to another while they seemed to be messing us around after taking our money was hardly pleasant. The staff's attitude was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. This is definitely nowhere near a 5-star hotel. If you book there, call regularly to check that the rooms you've paid for actually exist.
