Taksim Sem House

At 28 euros for a day, I think the price and location deserve four stars. Taksim square and other attractions are close by. The rooms are tiny but have a TV, air conditioning, and a small balcony. The tiled bathroom is a decent size and has hot water and a hairdryer. Be warned, there's no lift and the property covers four floors. The stairs are very steep, so getting to your room could be a struggle if you're not fit or you're carrying luggage.

The owner was a big help with getting oriented and with the language during my almost weeklong stay at Sem house. There are always places to eat and buy things nearby. The hotel is well located, and although my room was compact, it even had a little kitchen setup for making tea. The other rooms looked neat and cozy too, so I hope you find one that suits you. I booked three nights and arrived on 1st march with my family, tired after a long journey. There was no lift, and when I asked the owner to help with our luggage, he refused. He put us in an apartment on the top floor, so I had to carry everything up the stairs myself. The room was awful and the locks didn't work. I slept with the terrace door open all night. The next morning, the water stopped while I was showering with shampoo still in my hair. I went out that day to look for another hotel and asked the owner for the rest of my money back. He refused, then refunded only one night and kept the other night's payment, saying I should be thankful for getting one night back. Not recommended for families or couples. Poor location and poor management.

It feels like home here. The rooms are clean and quiet, and the neighborhood is peaceful while still close to everything. Taksim Square is just a 1 one minute walk away, with the metro and bus stations 5 minutes away. I recommend this place 100%.
