The Capri Osmanbey Boutique Hotel

The shower in my penthouse room didn’t work, which was completely unacceptable. At 2:00 a.m., the receptionist was extremely disrespectful to me. That front desk experience was the worst I’ve had in my 36 years, and I decided not to extend my stay and left. They don’t speak a single word of English, which made everything worse. A very disappointing stay.

Breakfast was fine and enough to keep you from going hungry, but that’s about all I can say for it. The hygiene was 2/10, and it really did smell like wet carpet everywhere. We were hotel guests, not strangers from who-knows-where, and still got scammed. Be careful at the bar on top of the hotel: they exchange 1 $ for 120 CUP, while everywhere else it’s 420-450 CUP per dollar. A PinaColada and a 200 ml draft beer cost us as if we were in Paris.

I switched my existing booking to this hotel after seeing the reviews on Booking.com, but I was disappointed. The hotel is small and, although the rooms were a reasonable size, there was a noticeable sewer smell. The shower drain was blocked and water ran over onto the floor. There’s no restaurant. Instead, a very basic breakfast is delivered to the room, nowhere near as polished as the hotel’s advertising photos and videos suggest. Its online presence sets expectations the hotel doesn’t meet. I wouldn’t rate it above two stars.

We showed up without a reservation and were really impressed by Capri Hotel. The staff were kind and helpful as soon as we arrived, made things easy, and showed great hospitality. Highly recommend it!
