The Nest Hotel

The room was clean, and the hotel’s modern, minimalist style worked for me. The staff were generally helpful, and the location made it easy to explore the city. A few practical things could be tricky: the entrance ramp is steep with heavy luggage, the elevators are small, and the economy room is so compact that there isn’t much room to move or open a suitcase. It seems fine for a short visit or someone packing light. With large bags, I’d consider a bigger room or expect tight quarters.

Miriam and Kuma at reception were kind, attentive, and understanding, and they really did try to help. Some kitchen and cleaning staff also put in a good effort. But their work couldn’t make up for the wider management and quality problems. The noise made it hard to rest. Loud karaoke right beside the hotel often went on until 3 AM, almost every day. Breakfast was repetitive, had little variety, and didn’t match its description. A few times, the food didn’t seem fresh and looked like it had been brought over from earlier days. We got a room much smaller than the one we’d booked and paid for. Reception admitted the information had been misleading and apologized, but couldn’t change our room or offer another fix. Housekeeping was hit or miss: towels were often missing, the bed wasn’t always clean, and the top covers sometimes looked visibly dirty. The TV didn’t work properly, the internet was unreliable, and water was occasionally unavailable. At times, some things seemed to have been moved in the room while we were out, which made us uncomfortable. Our stay was barely average, and I was surprised this place is rated four stars because the quality didn’t match. There were a few good moments, but most of the experience wasn’t satisfactory. I wouldn’t stay again and don’t recommend it, except maybe for one very short night. Even then, the price is hard to accept when there are better quality options in a similar location.

Meryam on the night reception was especially helpful, polite, and professional throughout. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well organised, and the customer service made the whole stay pleasant. Highly recommended.

The shower kept clogging, and there were a few room problems: dust all over the headboard, a TV remote that didn’t work, and a room that felt too small for three people. Breakfast may suit Turkish guests, but the choices felt limited to me as a non-Turkish guest. The breakfast area was called outdoor, though it was enclosed, and people were smoking there. Sitting in the smoke felt unhealthy and unpleasant. Smoking should be in a truly open area. I stayed three nights and was greeted warmly by the receptionist and staff. Everyone was hospitable and the service, including from the waitresses, was genuinely good. The water pressure was great too. Still, I wouldn’t come back.
