Venus Airport Otel

After hours of being shuttled between airports, I was too exhausted to think straight. I blame myself for not doing a quick search before agreeing, because I could have avoided this. They had me believe this was a four-star hotel Turkish Airlines used for passengers with seriously delayed flights, and said Turkish Airlines would reimburse the upfront payment. Once there, it became obvious that wasn't what I'd expected. The hotel barely feels like two stars, with functional rooms, little furniture, and small beds. The pillows and linen are a joke. It feels like an organized scam, and I still can't believe the airport doesn't do anything about it. Maybe that's part of its "charm".

The best thing I had was a takeaway durum kebab for dinner. They didn't make it at the hotel, but seriously, it was the best thing ever. As for the stay, the staff service was fine and the place has the basic utilities, but the hotel's condition is quite bad. Treat it as a very budget option and be careful what you pay. Don't be swayed by the con artists in the airport offices. Sit at a Cafe, check prices online, and go from there.

The only thing that went smoothly was the ride to the airport the next morning. We booked Otel Venus during a layover without checking reviews, and it was incredibly overpriced. Our toilet was broken, mosquitoes were everywhere, and we had no pillowcases or proper sheets or blankets. The mattress was dirty, and although we checked it, we later noticed bites, so bed bugs seemed possible. We wouldn't stay again and don't recommend it.

I spent a month at Otel Venus and really enjoyed my vacation there. Room 401 was quiet, with sliding doors onto the terrace and the whole rooftop to yourself, though I wouldn't suggest it if you have children. Workers sometimes came up to clean rugs, but the view was amazing and I'll always remember the experience. It's a short walk to the minibus. The new aiport is far away, but you can get there directly by MetroBus or take a taxi. There are restaurants within walking distance, though it's a bit of a walk. They offer free breakfast and have a menu you can order from daily for a cost. The staff are kind and understanding if you don't speak Turkish, and some speak other languages too. I felt safe and would stay again. Thank you Otel Venus!
