Verna Hotel

The apartment was on a damp half-basement floor, smelled bad, had some mold in the bathroom, and was very small. The neighborhood felt rough, and the internet could disappear completely. We wanted to stay for a month through Airbnb, but cancelled right away after seeing the place. We needed a good table and internet for work and asked if they were available; they said yes, everything was there. We felt scammed and robbed. They charged us $200, plus the service took $80, for just one night. Fortunately, they returned at least $500 of the original $800. For travelers looking for somewhere in Istanbul for about a month, Airbnb is the worst option. Many areas aren't safe, there are lots of scammers, and Airbnb says technically nobody owes you a refund. Please take care.
