Vernazza Suites

It's an older hotel on a busy street, and the maintenance could be better. Still, it's clean, the staff are friendly, and the location is handy. If you expect around a 3.5-star place, you'll probably be happy. For the price, it feels about right.

The pictures gave me a different impression of this hotel. The carpet in the Presidential Suite was really dusty. They leave the windows open when guests arrive, so you may not notice at first, but the place was a disaster. A lot needs improving.

The rooms were dirty and smelled bad, the air conditioning was noisy, the curtains were torn, and the toilets were broken. The hotel felt old, and the reception was dark and scary at night. Some windows had black film on them. I booked the biggest suite, but the children's bed had only a small glass barrier to stop them falling to the next floor. There was also an emergency door right in front of my bed that opened onto stairs leading to the street, and it wouldn't close. The reservation photos on Google and booking sites made the place look much better. When I tried to cancel, they relied on the no-cancellation policy and wouldn't refund me. The reservation guy knew what I was talking about and smiled when I confronted him. I'll share some photos.

I chose to pay at the property when I booked through booking .com. Before I arrived, they emailed to say my debit card wasn't working and cancelled my reservation. When I contacted them, they said I hadn't replied in time and that they were full. The service was rude and disrespectful to customers who had already chosen to pay cash.
