The location worked well, but after spending seven days there, I wouldn't call this a five-star hotel. I'd rate it one or two stars. Fancy lighting doesn't make a place five-star. At 9 a.m. I went to shower and there was no water. Reception said they were having technical problems, but a five-star hotel should have backup water. We also couldn't sleep because a public disco near the top floor played music until 3 a.m. At breakfast, there was one person in the kitchen area and one at the door, and both seemed angry and had no manners. The hotel wasn't comfortable.

The metro station is right beside the hotel, so getting around by public transport is easy. Our room was spacious and clean, and the staff were exceptionally polite and friendly. We really appreciated the warm hospitality. It had a pleasant feel, and would suit a relaxing spa break or a weekend away.

We enjoyed the hotel and found it beautiful. Breakfast had lots of choices, all fresh and tasty, and both the metro and a shopping mall are nearby. The one surprise was the pool rule: you have to wear a swimming cap, and guests without one have to pay extra. We wish the hotel provided caps. Aside from that, we were very happy with everything.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and Forum Istanbul is just steps away. The staff were so attentive and kind. Haken (I think) at the blend365 cafe was especially lovely and hospitable. I'm a non-smoker, though, and could smell cigarettes everywhere, which I wasn't keen on.

The facilities were a letdown: we had to buy swimming caps, then found the pool freezing and unusable. The jacuzzi was also cold and out of order, and nobody had warned us. There was a dirty kettle too, and the shower door wouldn't close properly. Staff professionalism overall was lacking. Arranging an airport transfer was frustrating from the start. I emailed several times and got automated replies or no reply, then a phone call only got me told to email again. Confirmation finally came less than 24 hours before arrival, while I was already on the plane. Nobody apologized for the disorganization. A very disappointing stay.
