Xenia Hotel

We stayed for three days, and the staff were friendly while the rooms were comfortable. There’s a bus stop nearby with a bus from the city center to the airport. A very nice hotel, and we’ll stay here again if we return to Istanbul.

The location is good, but the room smelled bad from the bathroom, the internet was slow and the cleaning wasn’t good. In my update, one day before checkout, I’d take off two more stars because the hotel deserved none. Hospitality doesn’t seem to be their thing, and they should leave it soon. Even when I asked, the room wasn’t cleaned, not even every two days. When they did clean, nothing seemed to change: same sheets, covers and towels. I didn’t feel comfortable or relaxed here at all. They don’t provide water. Late at night I asked for a bottle or two. The staff member said there was none at the hotel, but that he was going outside to get some for himself and would bring me some too. Then he charged me 9TL for three bottles that cost 1TL each, 3TL in total.

Salih, the hotel manager, was excellent. He did our laundry, gave us a travel pass and shared some great recommendations. Our room was very comfortable, with a TV, shower, double bed and air conditioning. It’s a short walk to Taksim Square and its shops, and I’d happily stay here again. We ended up here because the place we were meant to stay had water damage, but we had a wonderful time. Thanks, Salih.

One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The room was extremely dirty and smelled terrible. After 15 minutes, I couldn’t stay any longer. The people working there admitted it was very dirty and smelled so bad, so I asked to check out right away without being charged. They agreed, since I couldn’t stay in the room even for a minute and the problem wasn’t my fault. Then I found they’d charged my Visa anyway. Since March I’ve been trying to get my money back, contacting them every week, but all I get are lies and excuses. I’m very disappointed, will never go back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
