Blue Life Hotel

I don’t normally leave reviews, but my five days at the Blue Life Hotel made me want to share. It has a personal, cozy feel as a family-run place, and the staff were warm and welcoming. The hotel was spotless and reasonably priced. I also loved the neighborhood, with friendly locals and plenty of places for authentic Turkish food. Central Park, the Old Market, the Clock Tower, Beach Walk, and the city center are all within walking distance.

We chose this place mainly because it’s close to the train stations, and the location worked well for us. The room was bright and roomy, with a good bathroom. The shower head was broken, but it didn’t take away a star for me. Staff were extremely helpful, and the friendly cats at reception were lovely. For what we paid, the room was just right, and we enjoyed both the stay and the service.

The price is fair, and I’d recommend this place if you want a good night’s sleep in Izmir. It’s a simple hotel run by a small, sweet family who do their best to make you comfortable. The rooms are good and the sheets were clean. Their son speaks English fluently and could help with just about anything.

I came back to the Blue life Hotel for a longer stay after visiting last year, and got the same lovely welcome and service. Both times my room was quiet and clean, with a comfortable bed, fresh linen, and a nice balcony. The shower had good pressure and temperature, and the staff and lobby cats were wonderful. There are tasty cafes and pastry shops next door, plus restaurants and grocery stores close by. The metro is handy once you’ve made your way around Hilal station the first time. I felt safe walking to the main attractions. I’ll be back a third time :)
