Mr. Deniz was kind, professional, and helpful throughout my stay, and his hospitality made the experience better. I appreciate everything and would gladly recommend the hotel to others.

There were some friendly staff members, although others seemed constrained by their job duties and couldn’t talk to you. The mini fridge had four sodas and two waters, which you could take freely, and housekeeping replaced whatever you drank the next day. Nobody told me the refills cost extra. I only discovered the charge after staying 14 days, when I was leaving. They said I owed money for four sodas and three waters and charged me 23 US dollars, rather than local currency. I thought that was excessive, and it left a bad impression. The cats around the restaurant and reception were another downside. I like cats, but don’t think they belong there when they wander as they please. After guests finished eating, the cats would jump onto the table and eat the leftovers, and staff didn’t seem to control it. Checkout is at noon, yet my key had already been deactivated by 9:00 AM, which felt like they were telling me to leave. The hotel wasn’t all bad, but those things made the stay unpleasant.

Melek and Taha in the restaurant really stood out for how kind and helpful they were. Staff overall were consistently lovely, spoke English very well, and made our week in Izmir much easier while my wife had dental treatment. Our Turkish is limited, so being able to communicate made a real difference. The hotel felt safe and friendly, and it was a pleasant place to return to after appointments. The room was clean, tidy, and a good size for us. In November it was warm, around 23°C, so we often left the window open. Keep in mind that Izmir is lively: the hotel is beside a dual carriageway with constant traffic and lots of horn-beeping. There’s a school next door whose bell plays the opening notes of Michael Jackson’s Black or White. It didn’t bother us, but light sleepers may notice it. Breakfast was generous, with Turkish-style boiled eggs, fresh bread, olives, and cheeses, and we enjoyed it throughout the stay. DBD Hotel Izmir made our dental trip comfortable and more enjoyable, with good comfort and great service.

The location was perfect, and my room at Hotel DBD was spotless and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, with great service and attention to detail. I loved my stay and will definitely come back!
