Dokuz Eylul Hotel

The room itself was clean and spacious, but I slept poorly. All the rooms were set to heating, and I couldn't adjust the temperature. Turning it off entirely left the room too hot, while opening a window meant dealing with traffic noise. Staff said the manager would call to help, but I never heard from them. I also asked for a simple breakfast before 7:30 and got no follow-up. The hotel is a little removed from the main shops and restaurants, in a more residential area. The lack of response really affected my stay.

The reception team at Yalu Konak Hotel were lovely and really supportive with what I needed, and my room was very clean. The restaurant was a different experience. The waiters whispered to each other, which made me uncomfortable. When I pointed out that the salad ingredients didn't match the menu, the waiter wasn't helpful or professional, and his attitude made me feel uncomfortable.

The friendly staff and excellent location made me feel welcome during my two nights at The Yalı Konak Hotel in İzmir. Sleep was harder, though, because the beds were noisy and uncomfortable. Breakfast didn't seem freshly prepared: the olives were much too salty, and the cucumbers tasted like they'd been cut well in advance. Parking was tricky too, as there are only a limited number of spaces. The hotel has a lot going for it, but better beds, breakfast, and parking would improve the stay.

A room by the elevator was noisy enough to disturb a peaceful night's rest, so I'd avoid that spot. Otherwise, the room and bed were comfortable, the hotel felt high standard, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's near the places you'd want to see but far enough from noisy areas. Parking wasn't a problem, with plenty of spots around. I'd happily stay again. Thanks for hosting us.
