Ramada Encore by Wyndham Izmir

The room itself was dusty and dirty, the air conditioner didn't work, and the bathroom had no ventilation. One reading light fell off when I tried to use it, the other was dead, and the make-up mirror light was faulty. The balcony door wouldn't lock, and the extra lock on the main door was loose, so I didn't feel secure. The so-called land-view balcony was blocked by a wall. Before that, we were given a key to a room that already had someone else's belongings in it. The staff said it was someone's “first day,” but after the rest of the stay I didn't believe that excuse. We were only there one night, and it was a disaster. I emailed them about the problems and never got a reply. The place felt unsafe, unhygienic, and badly managed. Don't stay here.

Dirty and understaffed, and I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you have a kid. Skip the breakfast here and get one at one of the nearby cafés instead. My experience was bad overall, so only stay if you have no other choice.

The hotel is basic, without fancy or glamorous touches, but it was one of the best Ramada’s I've stayed in. I've traveled around the world a lot. The location was great, it was clean, breakfast was good, and the staff were terrific. Gokhan Vardarlı at reception, along with Food Supervisor Resul Aslan and Mehmet Aldemir, went out of their way to help us. I really appreciated it!

I spent a week here, and it was the worst hotel stay of my life. There was no wardrobe, the bathroom drain was blocked, and the curtains looked like they hadn't been washed since they were new. A waste of money. I'm not surprised by the 3.9 rating.
