Cosmos Lounge

We spent a week at Cosmos Lounge and could easily have stayed longer. It’s peaceful, with chill-out spots, clean bathrooms and showers, and areas for yoga and flow. There’s a private beach about a 10-minute walk away, and the setting is full of cute cats and fun decor. We feel lucky to have found the place and hope to come back soon.

The cottages were clean and the location has lovely views, but the staff felt only somewhat friendly and there was an odd atmosphere. The place presents itself as nature-friendly, yet I noticed lots of plastic bottles down the hill and cigarette butts everywhere. A five-minute shuttle ride down costs 60 Turkish Lira, and it’s another 60 to get back up when you leave, around $20 USD in total. Music plays loudly late at night, which may bother some guests. Dinner and breakfast were well prepared and delicious. There are also loads of cats, which could be a real nuisance if you don’t like cats.

After nearly six years of visiting Kabak Valley, Cosmos Lounge has been my best camping experience. The breathtaking views, relaxed friendly atmosphere, and cruelty-free vegetarian food all stood out. There’s a private beach, Boncuk Bay, 750 steps away, and Kabak Beach is about a 10-minute walk from camp. You can also walk to Cosmos Camp or take a shuttle. The camp has young, laid-back staff, yoga retreats, fire and hoop shows, and techno parties now and then. The owner is a great DJ and throws some of Kabak’s best parties. I’d recommend it to backpackers, solo travellers, and families with kids. See you next time, Cosmos Family!
