Sea Valley Lodge

The location is beautiful, and the reception staff were genuinely lovely and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable, but a lot of details felt disappointing for a place listed as a 4-star hotel. There were only paper cups, and the complimentary water bottles were too small to fill the kettle for tea. They weren’t replenished during our stay. The water temperature and pressure kept changing, and the “hot” water was often only lukewarm. Cats and dogs wandered freely around the grounds and lay on the shared seating, leaving strong smells that made those areas feel unclean. The sand by the so-called private beach smelled unpleasantly of cat waste. The beach itself didn’t feel exclusive either, with makeshift tents and people sleeping overnight on air mattresses despite signs saying “tents and camping forbidden.” The restaurant was expensive, portions were small, and the food lacked flavour. Breakfast had plenty of options, but freshness seemed questionable: the cheeses seemed past their best, bread was often stale, and some things felt like they’d been served for several days. Service was below standard too, especially from one young male server who seemed uninterested. We had to remind staff each time because the 10% hotel guest discount wasn’t applied automatically. We preferred the nearby local restaurants for tastier food at better prices. With some improvements, the hotel could shine, but as it is, it doesn’t live up to its 4-star rating.

The drive is the rough part. The last stretch is narrow and unpaved, and the slope calls for a good car and confident driving, but it’s worth it. The place is recommended: clean rooms, great food at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, and very friendly staff. It isn’t a private beach, so other people may play loud music at night. Hotel guests do have their own seabeds.

A lovely, peaceful spot tucked into nature. The staff made us feel welcome, and the clean, comfortable bungalows are great for a relaxing break.

Kabak Bay’s location at the very end of the road is exceptional, and you can’t expect a quieter setting. The welcome was good, but the rooms were very average for Turkey and for this location. There’s no real sea view from the rooms, and the bathroom had a bad smell. The restaurant wasn’t good: the food lacked taste, cats were everywhere, and the limited open buffet breakfast didn’t even have proper Greek cheese as an option, which is a shame for a Turkish breakfast. There are better choices within a 30-minute drive. The pool is smaller than it looks in the pictures. The price is fair, but keep your expectations in check.
