Nemrut Dağı Işik Pansi̇on

Murat and Ahmet were such good hosts, thanks to them. The round tour of the nearby sights was great, and we enjoyed the rooms and delicious food. We felt very welcome.

Ahmad was a hero. He picked us up from the bus stop at around 9 in the morning and gave us a good price, so he was the best. The room was clean, with hot water and everything. We felt comfortable there and used the laundry. There’s also a very good, cheap shop nearby.

The air was fresh, and the bed was clean, though I had to make it myself. But there was almost no toilet paper, and I wanted to shower before leaving at 4.00, only to find no hot water even after letting it run for 15 minutes. Since I had to leave at 4, there wasn’t time to ask, and the Inn should have checked this. Dinner was overpriced, 300 lira for very dry chicken, and the salad gave me the Nemrut curse, which wasn’t fun while climbing Nemrut. They also kept insisting I give a 10 rating on booking, so be aware. I got the sense the Inn is making easy money while neglecting basic things needed for a comfortable stay.

Murat was fair, caring, and attentive, and his wife and two sons were hospitable too. He even helped me book a bus to Cappadocia. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean and had hot water, the aircon worked, and the beds were comfortable. For everything I paid 4825 lira for one night at the end of September 2023. That included pickup from Adıyaman bus station, a short photo stop at a tourist place, then the ride to the pension house, dinner, breakfast, transport to Nemrut and back, and a ride from the pension house to Kahta bus station. My room cost 725, though room prices vary. The other listed costs were breakfast 150, dinner 200, transportation to and from Nemrut 1000, transport from Adıyaman bus station 1500, and from the pension house to Kahta bus station 1250. I’m an American/Filipino tourist and highly recommend this place. Some people complain about the price, but other places may charge more without you knowing what the conditions are like. This pension house felt like an oasis, with a rare good price and decent food.
