Mediteran Hotel

We’ve just come back from our second stay, and loved it again. Krista and the team are warm, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile. The hotel is beautiful, the views are stunning, and plenty of guests return once they discover this spot on the hillside. We brought my adult children this time and they loved it too. Kalkan has so much to explore in its cobbled streets, and the boat trips are fabulous. Getting down to town is steep, but taxis are easy to find, cheap, and arrive within minutes. With reasonable mobility, it’s manageable, and the peace and spectacular views make the location well worth it. The infinity pools have incredible views, and there’s never a problem finding a sunbed. You can also head to the beach club for pontoon-style sunbathing, as they have around the bay. Rooms are spacious and airy, with great air conditioning, a fridge, and a large walk-in shower. The food is fabulous, and the flower-filled terrace is a lovely place to relax. There’s also a welcoming lounge with bookcases where guests can borrow books or leave one behind. I’ve done that for the past few years. The gardens are beautifully kept, and you’ll make friends with the well-cared-for cats.

The views from the hill above Kalkan are spectacular, whether you’re at an infinity pool, the outdoor bar, or the restaurant. It’s about a 15-minute walk into town, or just a two-minute taxi ride if you’d rather not walk. My wife and I have stayed at The Mediteran for years, and everything keeps bringing us back. The sea-view rooms are lovely, beautifully furnished, and faultless. Krista and her team are friendly, polite, and professional, and many of them have worked there for years, which says a lot about the business. 11/10 for The Mediteran!!! :)

We enjoyed our four days at The Mediteran Hotel. The hotel is clean, the rooms are huge with amazing views, and there are two infinity pools. Every staff member was friendly and went out of their way to help. We also had dinner there once, and every dish was delicious. Sitting at the bar with that spectacular view was a treat. Breakfast was the one letdown, and could put us off booking again. Compared with the rest of the hotel it felt like an afterthought, with very limited choices. The scrambled eggs were cooked at the start of the three-hour service and left on a heated plate, so they were often watery, oily, and rubbery. The only other egg was a cold hard-boiled one. There was also cheese, plain cornflakes, natural yogurt, bread, and fresh melon each morning. We were left hungry every day, and would have preferred to pay a bit more for a better breakfast.

The staff were so friendly and looked after us really well. Comfortable hotel, gorgeous views, two pools, and good food. Highly recommended.
