The Elysian Resort Hotel

The food was a complete nightmare: there was barely any choice, and hygiene was non-existent. The hotel seemed indifferent and said that since it was by the sea, guests would come anyway. It was the worst travel experience of my life. I definitely don't recommend it.

The setting is peaceful, with a beautiful view and a beach for anyone who enjoys walking. We went for our annual reunion with university friends, and despite my misgivings after reading the negative reviews, the hospitality was great. Our rooms were clean and adequate, and there was live music, so we had a lovely time. Dinner was delicious and well prepared: we ordered fish and enjoyed it with a variety of salads. Breakfast was just right too. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The view is magnificent, and the rooms are wonderful. Mr. Özgür, the owner, was attentive and so pleasant to talk with, almost like a friend I hadn't seen in years. Thanks to him. I wholeheartedly recommend the place and hope to come back.

The staff were really nice and understanding, especially the chef, who was lovely. I have nothing against them, but the problems seem to be with the hotel owner. The electrical system was said to have had issues since we arrived, though we didn't experience the power outage mentioned in other reviews. The pool was closed because of a power problem, and with few guests there was no open buffet. We had chosen the hotel through hotels because it advertised both a pool and an open buffet. Since we were only planning a short two-day holiday, we tried not to let it bother us. Still, they closed reservations through hotels immediately after we arrived, which was even more ridiculous. The biggest issue was that we'd chosen it for the open buffet, but on our last day they kept insisting breakfast had to be included. That was very disturbing. On arrival in one of the top-floor rooms, we found cigarette burns and strands of hair on the sheets and asked to have them changed. Thankfully, they were. If the owner doesn't look after the hotel, problems can't really be solved, even if the staff do their best. There are no lights if you want to sit on the beach in the evening, and getting down to it means a lot of stairs, which can make your legs hurt. We were tired after staying on the top floor, so we took the elevator, but it made strange noises and didn't feel like one to use. The rooms aren't insulated, so you can hear people in the other rooms. There are no mosquito screens on the windows either, and if you open them, lots of flying creatures can get in.
