Doga Apartments

The pool was nice, but this place wasn’t worth the price and I wouldn’t recommend it. The house seemed to have gone a long time without renovation or maintenance, and there were too many basic problems. The front door wouldn’t lock, so we had to leave the house open. The fridge door wouldn’t shut unless we propped it with a stool, and the kitchen light didn’t work. There were no sponges or washing-up liquid, and not one chair in the house. Instead of a blanket, there was only an old mattress cover. The bathroom tap was broken, there were no hooks or shelf or cabinet for our clothes and belongings, so we had to put them on the floor. There was just one old bar of soap for everyone. We told the host about all this, but he refused to give us any discount. If they’re charging this much, they need to pay attention to comfort and the small details.

Ali and his daughter Doğa are such helpful hosts, and nothing seems like too much trouble. We’ve had several two-week stays, including the first two weeks of July with my husband and me. The apartments are traditional and stay cool. They’re an easy walk from Kayakoy village, far enough away to feel removed from it all. The garden and pool are peaceful places to relax. Ali puts on BBQ nights and sorts out transfers. He’ll even take you on a morning walk if you like. Sometimes he sits and chats at the end of the day, and his Turkish breakfast is great too. Such a relaxing holiday.

We keep coming back to this lovely place, which is still one of our favourites. Ali is a wonderful host, and it feels like a little paradise in a rural setting. The stylish buildings and big pool sit beautifully in the orchard garden, with the old Kayaköy village and local restaurants both within walking distance.

We loved spending a week in Ali's beautifully restored Greek stone house. It’s just a five-minute walk from the abandoned town of Levissi, and the pool is amazing. Ali's BBQ night was delicious too. Everything was perfect, and I highly recommend it!
