We felt the biggest problem was the lack of professionalism, transparency, and accountability, and we would not return. We were charged 600 in local currency at checkout after being told we had eaten a jar of nuts and damaged a toilet seat. We hadn’t eaten the nuts, and the seat was already broken when we arrived. There had been no inspection at check-in, and no staff were there during the stay. We paid just to leave and avoid a further dispute. It wasn’t about the money. We were the only guests in low season, and after check-in the only staff member left the property unattended for the night. There was no front desk, onsite support, or basic supervision. Breakfast also wasn’t available at 8:30 AM because they said “no staff” could arrive before 9:30 AM. If the hotel is open, basic services like breakfast should be arranged, or guests should be told clearly before booking. One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in years.

The location was wonderful, but the stay left us disappointed. We felt rushed, partly because the booking form asked for a check-in time months in advance and we just guessed to fill in the blank. When we didn’t make that time, we felt hurried to get there, and travelling with a baby didn’t help. The breakfast didn’t really work for us. Maybe it’s because we’re Aussie and don’t eat much bread or processed food; eggs and yogurt would have been enough for all of us. What actually irritated us was the shower drain. Someone had done plumbing before we arrived and hadn’t put the drain lining back. The room smelled of sewage in the mornings, and at first we thought it was the toilet. On the second night we noticed the shower drain cap had been removed and left on the ledge. Since the place wasn’t busy, I’d have thought they could put someone in another room until the sewage issue was sorted.

After 25 years of staying at different destinations, we’ve finally found a place we really like. We discovered Kaya Villas this summer, and it was a real gem. Manager Tanja and her colleagues made our six days unforgettable with their kindness, and the cleanliness and peace were wonderful. Everything was great. We’ve booked a slightly longer stay for next year and hope Tanja and her colleagues will be there to make it complete. Highly recommend.

The grounds were beautiful, the suite was modern, and breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly, but communication could have been better: the water was off for hours and nobody told us. There was also a surprise charge at the end for breakfast “additions” like coffee, even though breakfast was supposed to be included. Nobody mentioned an extra cost during the stay. It got resolved, but at that price point it was really unnecessary. The kitchen has new appliances but lacks basics like hand towels. We also got the feeling the place catered more to the owners’ family and friends than to paying guests. Dinner was mixed. The pasta was the worst I’ve ever had, while the other food was OK, though a bit pricey.

We didn’t stay in the villas, but they look great even at first glance. What really makes a visit worthwhile is their restaurant Adoli, which isn’t even on the map. We ate better there than anywhere else in Turkey, even in Istambul. The service was great too, with really friendly waiters and chief, and their BBQ nights have delicious meat.
