Fun & Sun Active Imperial Turkiz Hotel

We had no real complaints, and getting a beach bed each day wasn't a problem, even with people who left towels on beds and never showed up. The hotel is also close to town, and we felt safe walking around. Food took a little getting used to on our first day as English visitors, but once we adjusted, we found plenty of choice and everything tasted fresh. We ate more salad in a week than we usually do at home, and it was so nicely prepared that I wish I could make it like that myself. The bed felt hard to me, though I usually sleep on a marshmallow-soft one, so maybe most people would find it comfortable. The cocktails were made fresh and generous, not like the premixed syrups we've had on other holidays. There was also a cafe with sandwiches, pastries, and ice cream, plus a separate coffee shop, both open from 10 am to midnight. The staff don't smile much at first, but they respond warmly when you talk to them politely.

We lost the whole night in the lobby after arriving around 1 a.m. The hotel said we hadn't paid, even though we'd come through a travel agency with a voucher and proof of payment. I called the agency overnight, and they sent confirmation to the hotel. Only then did the hotel agree to put us up, but said we'd have to wait until the cleaning lady had cleaned a room in the morning. We hadn't slept after an eight-hour flight, and it was 9 a.m. before we were finally told to check in. No apology came. The reception staff were rude and unprofessional, and they didn't respond when we raised problems. The building and rooms were old and run-down, with mold in the bathrooms. Towels brought after one cleaning smelled of cigarettes. The room phone never worked, and despite asking reception, nobody fixed it during our ten days there. The shower was constantly dripping with sweat. Food was more or less decent, but staff struggled to understand English. Don't spend your vacation here.

The location is very good, and the staff are kind and helpful. We had a great time with the activities and enjoyed spending quality time together. Special thanks to Animation menager Mr Sahin. The food was good. You'll generally be made welcome and have a good time.

Meals were bland, poor, and hardly varied. The staff weren't friendly, and I often saw them gossiping about guests. I came away with a very bad impression and wouldn't recommend this hotel.
