UPDATE: The owner says he refunded the $200, but that wasn't true. They asked me to send 700 TL in advance for the apart Otel room. I later booked through another Turkish company for 500 TL a night, which turned out to be a mistake. “Tatil Budur “ cheated me and gave me a room instead of the Apart Otel room. The owner said that if he checked me into the room, he would return the 200 TL difference. Check-in took an hour while I waited for the cleaner to finish. The room still wasn't very clean. I was meant to stay four nights, but decided to leave after sleeping there uncomfortably. The room was spacious but needed a lot of updating, and I couldn't close the bathroom window. For some reason, I didn't feel at home. I lost 200 TL on a lousy apart hotel room, and leaving the next day to find another hotel was the right call.

The owner wouldn't give me my money back, and what happened left me feeling robbed and assaulted. He'd told Agoda he wanted to “upgrade” me, but the alternative was awful, with doors that wouldn't shut and mosquitoes everywhere. I also wondered if the place might have been a brothel: most rooms seemed empty, apart from a few young women sitting around and often going in and out of rooms. They appeared highly intoxicated or possibly drugged. It was an honest nightmare, and my day was ruined. I'd booked two days ahead after looking around Kemer for the best option. My girlfriend was coming back to meet me in Turkey that day, after I'd spent the past couple of months traveling and seeing too little of her. It took a few hours to reach Kemer, then I took a taxi from the bus station to the hotel. The owner wouldn't let me check in and wanted me to cancel and pay the hotel directly, saying they had problems with the booking sites. After a five-hour wait, walking around, and many calls to Agoda.com, I finally got into the room, despite disputes over the price and the booking. I had very little time left to get ready and pick up my girlfriend at the airport. Just minutes after I shut the door and turned on the shower, the owner pounded on it, demanding money. The booking had already been paid through the site, but he tried to charge me more than the room had cost. I told him I needed to get ready and that he should call Agoda. He threw my bags out, said the hotel was full, then pushed me and kicked my bags off the property. When he saw me on the phone with Agoda, he kept kicking the bags and pushing me until I was off the street. Agoda tried to help accommodate me, but the whole thing was handled horribly. The owner lied and assaulted me, and tried to take more money. He made me late and stole from me.

I was with my kids when they checked us into a room someone had already used. There were condoms, cigarettes, bottles of alcohol, and drug paraphernalia all over the place. I had to explain more than I wanted to for their ages.

Great location, but the room was gross and the service was awful. Not a good stay. If you're nearby, try the Georgian restaurant.
