La Boutique Ipek

The staff were really friendly, and the price was cheap compared with the other options. We had a lovely, relaxing time in the pool too. Staying at this boutique hotel was a very nice experience. If you want somewhere cosy and good quality, this is one of the best choices.

We first stayed here in June 2009, during a 6,000 km drive around Turkey. The hotel left us with a very good impression. The photos show what a lovely place it was, including the wonderful breakfast and the warm atmosphere. It would be a shame if, as one review says, it has slipped over the past ten years and become an ordinary, worn-out two- or three-star hotel.

Aylin made us feel welcome right away. She’s a charming, charismatic owner who looks after guests, especially when they take the time to get to know her. Meeting local people is one of my favorite parts of traveling, and she was a fantastic host in Kemer. The hotel sits in a central but quiet area. It’s an older building, kept in good condition, with a lovely exterior. The rooms, furniture, decor, and TV are dated, though that didn’t bother us at the budget price. The mattresses were hard, and replacing them would be my one suggestion. Breakfast is basic, while the pool is very clean. Aylin makes great mojitos, and you can order food she prepares herself or, I assume, get it delivered from a nearby restaurant. There are seven friendly, sweet cats at the hotel, and it works well for children and families. The nearby beach is great, with a free hotel shuttle. You can also go there in the evening for food and drinks.

The hotel looks nice from the outside, and the staff are helpful, though not very efficient. Inside, the rooms are tiny and poorly maintained, especially the bathroom. Sitting on the toilet, your upper body ends up over the sink. The rooms were dirty and there was no hot water. Breakfast was below average, with flies in the bowl of olives. It’s a cheap hotel, so you get what you pay for.
