Kenan A.
We paid for five days and checked in on August 6, 2024, but only stayed two nights. We had to leave on Thursday, so I spoke with the manager, Mr. Mehmet, about using Friday, Saturday and Sunday later. He said there were no refunds. When I asked if we could use those days the following year, he said we could use two, not all three. I asked for something in writing, but he said it was in the system and told me, “I'm here, the place is ours, I'm the boss's nephew.” We left. On September 3, 2025, we went back. I explained it to the receptionist, but after 30 minutes there was still no answer. He said he couldn't access the previous year's records, couldn't reach accounting and didn't know anyone named Mr. Mehmet. When I pressed the matter, he called the owner and handed me the phone. I explained everything, but the owner said he couldn't help. I said I'd complain to the relevant authorities, and he replied sternly, “Do whatever you can.” “Mr. Manager,” I said, “I've done my research.” I've started doing everything I can. The money you took from me unjustly should be considered haram. If you were afraid of what was haram, you wouldn't have taken my money, though that's a separate matter. I'll complain on the complaint website, write to the ministry and pursue all my rights. I won't let you keep the money you took unjustly, business owner. Even if I can't get it back from you, the state will make you pay many times more, and you'll lose far more income. I hope the accounting records at your hostel and construction sites aren't as irregular as the ones at your hotel.
