Ares Blue Hotel

The pool was pretty good, though cold. The sun loungers were good, but the pool needs umbrellas for shade. There was a DJ booth, but they played the same five songs every day, and that got frustrating after a few hours. The lift didn't work at all during our stay, and when we checked out the staff were rude. They didn't say goodbye or ask about our stay. Our room wasn't very clean, but it did the job. Don't expect it to be cleaned and reset every day. The bathroom was grimy, and after a few days we noticed ants there. The beds were okay, if not very comfortable. The balcony was nice, but there was only one chair for two people. The food was the worst I've ever had at a hotel. It was the same for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, with no labels or allergy information. I have dietary restrictions, so I found it scary to eat there. When the dining hall opened, customers pushed and shoved to get food. The bar was visibly dirty and only had warm white and red wine, beer, and cola, even though spirits were displayed on the shelf. The slush was full of wasps, and some went into it. Staff refused to replace it and kept serving it. Several times I got dirty glasses, or they had none available. The staff were some of the rudest I've encountered. They seemed to have no idea what hospitality meant, didn't smile or chat with customers, and ignored us in the restaurant. They wore no uniforms, just things like tracksuits. I won't be coming back.

The only drinks included were warm wine, beer, and orange Tango, and the air conditioning kept getting shut off. Food was disgusting, and there was nothing to eat between the set meal times: breakfast 8-10, lunch 12.30-2, and dinner 7-9. The staff were rude, and the room wasn't cleaned. Not that cleaning would've made a difference. This place isn't all-inclusive. Avoid it.

Oktay Öztürk, the bar and restaurant manager, deserves a big thank you for organizing everything so well. The food was varied and delicious, and it was served beautifully. There was something new to surprise guests every evening. The polite, well-mannered waiters reflect the work of a talented manager.

The staff didn't speak English, and the lifts were out of order. The room was small for three of us, with a disgusting shower and no kettle. We had to ask for clean towels, and they took a day or two to arrive. Food was awful, and the only drinks were beer and wine. They also often ran out of beer. This hotel should be shut down. I wouldn't go back for a million pounds.
