Adrasan La Perla

Really lovely.

Fantastic.

The staff were genuinely kind, especially the woman who cleaned our room and the woman who brought breakfast. They were cheerful and always took care of what we asked for. That was the best part of this stay. Everything else left us regretting the choice. The rooms were cramped and very old, and although there was a pool, the bottom looked filthy, so I wondered how often it was cleaned. Breakfast was so disappointing that the next morning we made do with a picnic instead. There were packaged items like Koska jam and honey, Pınar butter, and what was probably inexpensive supermarket white cheese and processed cheese. Classic aged cheese wasn't expensive, unfortunately. You could also choose fried or boiled eggs, and there were a few kinds of little pastries. We had thought about eating dinner there, but after seeing breakfast we lost our appetite and felt better about having eaten out. The price was another problem. After we had settled in at the rate agreed with the owner, he began asking for 100 lira extra per day. Since we were only there for three nights, we didn't want to repack and hunt for another hotel. We bargained and stayed, with the owner taking 30 TL off, but I wish we'd left. I've stayed in Adrasan many times and this was the worst place I've experienced. We felt we'd wasted our money. They say it's near the sea, but most Adrasan hotels are close to it anyway. Think twice before booking.

The rooms are clean, and both the air conditioning and hot water worked fine. There's no TV, which didn't matter to us, but the lack of a refrigerator was a real issue. Breakfast was pretty good and filling, though the 8:30-10:30 serving window is a very bad idea. The bees were a nuisance too. The setting is lovely: Mediterranean colors in the courtyard and rooms, with big leafy trees giving shade to the restaurant area. The pool is tiny, but they've made its surroundings pleasant, and the sea is just as close. Ömer, Serhat Bey's son, and the two Uzbek employees were especially warm and sincere, always smiling. We got off to a poor start with Serhat Bey. He looked at the water bottles in our bag and said, "You've brought everything, what are we going to sell here?" We found that rude, though clearly he thought we'd been rude too. At checkout, we asked where we could change and he pointed us to the restroom, which was a bad way to end things. In general, I thought he managed the place well, and he was flexible about room changes. I mean this kindly, but a bit more tact from him would have made us happier. Maybe I might feel differently in other circumstances. The value for money didn't work for me, but I left with good memories. If I return to Adrasan, I'd consider coming back, though I'd definitely look at other hotels first.
