The peaceful little bay at Papas Steps (Papaz Iskelesi) is close enough for a pre-breakfast walk, with a sandy beach for safe swimming, fresh drinkable water, clean toilets and picnic tables. Karaoz village is a little farther along on foot and has a bar, restaurant and small shops, though its beach isn’t as pretty as Papaz. Historical and archaeological sites are also easy to reach by car, taxi or bike. The hilly terrain adds to the area’s appeal. Back at the property, the bungalows have space between them, with room to sit in the shade, read, sunbathe or cool off in the pool. The setting is idyllic, in a cleared patch of forest with wildflowers and buzzing bees, plus rabbits, chickens, turkeys, cats, dogs and even tortoises wandering around. Food is plentiful, local and changes from day to day; the staff were flexible about our likes and dislikes, so we could simply enjoy what was served. It’s a quiet, relaxing place for an easy holiday, with friendly, helpful staff who take initiative. Highly recommended.
