Doa Apartments

We spent our holiday at Doa Apart after choosing Güzelçamlı for all the good things we’d heard about its national park and sea. My wife and I found the rooms very spacious and clean. Even though we arrived in June, the room stayed cool all day, perhaps because it’s so close to the forest. Mr. Ayhan and Ms. Gülsen were friendly and hospitable, and we’d like to thank them. We’d highly recommend staying here if you visit Kuşadası.

The forest setting is nice, and if you have a car and want a cheap holiday, this could work. It’s inexpensive, which is why I’m only deducting one star for the price. But I wouldn’t choose it again. The place is far from the town center and beach on foot, and despite being in the forest it gets very hot because there’s no air conditioning. Mosquitoes are around too, though there’s nothing the landlord can do about that. We stayed for three days, and the house was below what we expected. It wasn’t very clean when we arrived. The kitchen is tiny and poorly equipped, with no hot water, and the tap water smelled bad. We couldn’t even make tea with it. I don’t know if it came from the mains or a well. The stove makes a lot of soot, and there was a gas smell in the room, so cooking was difficult. There’s no drying rack for clothes. It’s a 2+1 house, but two beds are in the living room, which is also the kitchen. The old beds were quite uncomfortable, and the sheets weren’t cotton, which is rough in summer, so bring your own. The wardrobe space is poor: just one two-door wardrobe in the bedroom for a four-person bed in a 2+1 house, plus two double drawers, one of which was broken and unusable. There’s no carpet, so you have to come in with your shoes on, though that’s a matter of preference. The toilet was broken and kept leaking. We were told they couldn’t find a repairman in summer. The shower uses a water heater, but its fuse blows every time, leaving only cold water in the heat. The next person has to wait five minutes after each shower. The doorknob came off in my hand. We had a special holiday surrounded by nature and lovely scenery. The rooms and service were very good.
