We've been staying at Melis Otel for years and expect to keep coming back. It's always felt friendly and welcoming, the food is good and there's plenty of it, and the private beach is lovely, quiet, and peaceful.

It's a hotel right on the sea, with a friendly atmosphere and staff. They serve a Mediterranean breakfast. Kusadasi is too far to walk to, so you'll need the number 6 or 10 minibus to reach the main town.

2/10
The room itself was clean, and there was no other issue with it. If all you need is somewhere to sleep, it might work. But we were very disappointed overall. The balcony door handle was broken, and there was a strong sewer smell when we went outside. The TV was ancient and only showed a "no signal" screen, something I hadn't seen in over a decade. Wi-Fi showed one bar out of three but wouldn't connect. There's very little to do in or around the hotel, so it felt boring. The pool is tiny and uncomfortable when other people are in it. There was only an unhelpful man at reception, who told us to wait until the next day.

The view is great, but it doesn't make the hotel worth the five stars it claims. It feels more like a three star place. There's no room service or minibar. Breakfast was just okay, and dinner was poor quality.

The setting is lovely and the beach is nice, but the hotel itself is horrible.
