Odelia Resort Hotel

Trying to get help here was frustrating. When I asked where to get a pool towel, staff just stared and shook their heads. They seemed uninterested, and people in this tourist town came across as rude and uncaring. If you don't speak their language, you get a blank look; even the ones who speak English were rude.

We were there for a week, and I can't see how this place gets five stars. The food was disgusting and the same at every meal. We didn't get fresh sheets once. After we put the room-cleaning request on the door, housekeeping only emptied the bin and ashtray. We were told the kids could have unlimited ice creams, but they were served only from 3 to 5 each day. The older male staff made us uncomfortable by looking us up and down, and male staff kept asking for our WhatsApp. There are just two lifts for 160 rooms, and both broke down. My disabled mother had to climb four flights of stairs, which nearly finished her off. Air conditioning didn't work in half the rooms, and there was none throughout the hotel. I'll be making a big complaint when I get home.

The food and beach situation were especially disappointing. Meals were repetitive, with dry pasta and the same meatballs at lunch and dinner for four days; there was hardly any choice, and the grilled chicken was raw. The pita buffet was great, and the drinks weren't bad, but the single lobby bar got crowded with queues. The stony beach had no bar, and the shuttle there ran very rarely. Our room wasn't cleaned, floors were sticky, tables dirty, staff unhelpful, and the elevators tiny. The pool was closed overnight twice after someone threw up, and it wasn't cleaned afterwards. One of the worst places I've stayed. I couldn't wait to check out.

The kids had plenty to do here, from playing in the garden to afternoon dancing and swimming in the pool, and we felt they were safe. We also really enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere, friendly people, and healthy, tasty food. Mr. Azad was very friendly and helpful with the SPA. He also offers tattoo services and a hair salon at the hotel. Prices are reasonable and the quality is good, so it was worth trying. We had a lovely holiday at Odelia resort and will definitely come back. Thank you 🙏
