Porteras Otel

We checked out feeling as if we'd just survived Survivor. The windows were so dusty and dirty that we couldn't enjoy the view, and breakfast was a complete fiasco. The pool wasn't ready, and the rooms weren't cleaned either. There were shortcomings everywhere; the place was run like a small boutique hotel despite its size. It sounded like management problems were involved. I can't blame the employees, who were trying to handle a huge workload with too few people. I don't want to go back. Wishing the staff patience and an easier time.

We booked Porteras through an agency for the holiday week, and only learned on arrival that the pool was closed for renovation. There was no open buffet breakfast either, just packaged items served on a plate. We had called the hotel beforehand, and nobody mentioned any of this. The photos online looked nothing like the place we found. The rooms were dirty, cleaning wasn't thorough, and the bathroom and toilet were old and moldy. There were stains and hairs on the sheets. The fridge was hard to open, and moldy inside, as if nobody had used it. The elevator was the only thing I liked. Our booking couldn't be refunded, and it seemed many people were stuck there for the same reason. I’d honestly have been happier sleeping in my car and spending the money elsewhere.

The view over Kusadasi is lovely, and we had a lot of fun sitting on the balcony. Porteras Hotel was clean and quiet, and I was really pleased with the stay. Ms. Sevcan at reception was warm and friendly, always greeting us with a smile. Mr. Hasan was very kind and helpful too, and I appreciated how polite and easy he was to communicate with. It's the best hotel I've stayed at in a long time, and I’m considering coming back. Highly recommend it. I added a little photo of the view 😍

Everything else was wonderful and the service was excellent, but something went wrong on our previous visit. An appetizer that was brought as complimentary showed up on the bill, and they charged us for a 70cl bottle instead of 35cl. A shame.
