Corendon Grand Park Lara

The location worked well for the Bazaars and beaches, and there’s a local Migros supermarket about 100 metres away. It’s a good shopping and dental or cosmetic treatment base, rather than a nightlife resort. Expect plenty of guests using the hotel bars, including one that runs 24/7. There’s a good choice of places to get a drink. For a budget hotel, it’s decent value and the room was clean and airy. The bathroom was OK with a good shower, and the fridge and coffee-making facilities were as expected. The minibar wasn’t restocked, though, just bottled water for making drinks. Sleep was difficult: the air system ran 24/7, and the bedding made me sweat even when the room was cool. Service was generally good and reception were always helpful, but staff often walked straight across in front of guests, which felt rude. They also gathered by exit doors to smoke, unpleasant for non-smokers. The food was OK for a budget place, but as a diabetic I struggled to put together a suitable diet.

I stayed for 4 days and had an amazing time. The bar was great, they got me a milkshake in about 10 seconds, and the service was incredible. When I asked for chips, they brought them straight away. The food was delicious. Sometimes I had pizza, even though it wasn’t really what I wanted. The pool was fun, though a bit deep and cold. I found a few hairs in the room that weren’t mine, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. That’s my review of grand park Lara!

I’m a picky eater, but there was enough choice that I never went hungry. We paid 15€ for the peppermint restaurant, and both the food and service were 5*. We spent 7 nights here. The rooms were made up every day with fresh bedding and towels, and there was fresh water in the fridge daily. The waiters and waitresses were efficient and helpful, remembered our drinks, and checked if we wanted more. Little things like wet towels on the food tables, snacks at the bar, and highchairs with disposable bibs made it feel family-friendly.

Our room was beautiful, the beds were comfortable, and the outdoor pool was lovely and warm even in the winter weather. The staff were lovely overall, though one man was kind of rude to me. We did tip some of the nice staff, including a lovely woman whose name I can’t remember and a guy I think was called Karmel, or something similar. I’d definitely come back. I’m going to miss this place.
