Fuar Hotel

The service and reception were excellent, and the location is ideal, close to Yenikapı Metro Station. Everything else was good too. I’d rate it 4 mainly because the rooms were very small.

The reception staff were probably the worst part of the stay. They were cold and rude, and met questions or requests with irritation or indifference. That added to an already uncomfortable few nights at this 3-star hotel. It was noisy at all hours, with walls so thin it felt like being out on the street. The rooms were cramped and poorly kept, the amenities outdated, and the bed uncomfortable. The linen was stained, the bathroom didn’t feel clean or hygienic, the air was stuffy, and an unpleasant smell lingered. Food was poor and repetitive: breakfast was a few tasteless processed items, the main dishes seemed rushed and careless, and even the coffee wasn’t good. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The lack of respect for guests came through in every detail.

It’s a nice, sustainable hotel. There’s sometimes street noise, so bring earplugs, and be ready for the internet connection to be unstable.

We arrived to find there was no accessible room for my mother, who uses a wheelchair, even though I had a confirmed reservation and had called ahead from Istanbul to check that a room would be available for the two of us. They couldn’t or wouldn’t accommodate us. That was unacceptable, especially after I took the extra step of calling. The lack of professionalism and concern for guests with specific needs caused us a lot of distress. I strongly advise against Fuar Hotel if you need accessible accommodation.
