Grand Seker Hotel - All Inclusive

Our week at the Grand Şeker Hotel was a positive experience, and we're happy to recommend it. We don't understand some of the negative reviews, since for this type of hotel and price range it met or exceeded our expectations. The food was the best we've had at similar hotels in Türkiye, and the staff were great, always friendly, smiling and helpful. Our room was small but clean and well equipped. The pools were okay, including a nice one for small children. The beach was clean too. During our stay, the sea wasn't dirty as some reviews said. It was a little cloudy near the shore because of the sand, but still very clean. Thanks to the Grand Şeker staff!

Staff were friendly, the hotel was kept clean and there was a great choice of food. We also got to check out late, then use the facilities and have food and drinks for a few hours before pickup without being charged extra. That was a nice touch. The beach is about a five-minute walk away, with plenty of sunloungers. Nearly all the guests seemed to be German, so staff usually assumed we spoke German. If you don't speak German or Turkish, communication may be difficult. Most guests smoked around the pool and outside restaurant areas even with children there. That wasn't ideal, though it wasn't the hotel's fault. There's a bus stop a few minutes down the road, with buses to Side or Manavgat.

The spa was the one good part, and it was good value. Everything else was a letdown: advertised facilities were missing or poor, and the food safety was appalling. We were served raw food, chicken included, more than once, and manager Hakki didn’t care. Most staff were rude or ignored non-Germans. Maybe that was because the hotel wasn’t really English-speaking despite its advertising, rather than deliberate rudeness. This may be the lowest-quality hotel we’ve ever stayed in.

We’d definitely come back. The rooms were comfortable, the food choice was great each day, and there was a fantastic pool with plenty of sunbeds plus a good kids’ room and playground. The entertainment was good too, though most guests seemed to be German and the evening shows were all in German, which made it hard for our kids to join in. That didn’t bother us otherwise. Superb five-star hotel.
