Leda Beach Hotel

What made this place for me was its charm and the friendly, family feel. The staff were fantastic, fun and helpful, remembered my name, stopped for a chat, and took time to answer questions. I absolutely loved my stay and would choose it again when I return to Side. The hotel sits on a hill between the seafront and the archaeological sites, so there are uneven ancient stone steps everywhere. They’re picturesque, but a problem if you have mobility difficulties. Cats are all over the hotel, though that’s true throughout Side too. For tours, you need to walk about five minutes to the security barriers for pickup, since vehicles can’t enter the mostly pedestrian old town. Airport transfers can come to the hotel entrance, and mine dropped me off and picked me up there promptly. There’s a restaurant bar on the beachside promenade and another at the top, with views of the amphitheatre and monumental fountain. The upper one has a terrace overlooking the pool. I didn’t eat dinner at the hotel, though it looked and smelled good. I went instead to the many nearby restaurants along the promenade, in the old town, at the harbour, or in modern Side. The old town and harbour are an easy walk away, though the harbour is about 15 minutes on foot. The shop inside the hotel is excellent and reasonably priced, with snacks, drinks, alcohol, cigarettes, toiletries and a good choice of little souvenirs. I arrived around 22:45 and could buy refreshments and wine for my balcony without leaving the hotel. The gardens were lovely, with oranges, pomegranates and olives among the chalets, pool and paths. There were archaeological pieces around the grounds, mostly reproductions, though some might have been original. My room was basic but clean, and the bed was comfortable. I suspect the rooms could use some upgrading and modernization, but I was happy, especially for the bargain price I paid for 11 nights. Breakfast came with the stay, had a tasty range of choices, and changed from day to day.

We’ve just got home, and the staff really made this place for us. They were fantastic and went out of their way to make the holiday pleasant. The beach bar team were great too, including the lovely bloke who came around to make sure we had some shade. Thanks again from Ros and Andy. The rooms are basic but spotless. The walls are thin, as someone else mentioned, so bear that in mind. We asked in advance for a quiet room and got one the day after we arrived. Our first night was in one of the lovely bungalows. Breakfast is fairly basic if you’re expecting a full English, for instance, but there’s still plenty to choose from. We had no complaints about the evening meals, with lots of choice and some changes to the menu every night. The location is great too.

The grounds looked really pretty in daylight, and the hotel is right by the beach, shops and lovely ancient village ruins. The staff all seemed friendly. At night, though, the grounds were very dark, especially near the room we had. The paths and stairs are uneven, so watch your step. We visited in December, and our little shed-like cabin was extremely cold at night. We didn’t get much of a view from the balcony, and the thin walls meant we were kept awake some nights. There are lots of cats, which was fine for me because I love them, but keep that in mind if you have allergies. Wi-Fi and air-conditioning cost extra. We couldn’t get the TV to work, and no one came to fix it when we asked, so maybe that’s a paid service too. Even with those issues, we enjoyed our stay and would come back ❤️

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at Leda beach hotel. We came in December, out of season, but still had what we needed, including day trips. Everyone welcomed us, and the staff were friendly. The old city is beautiful, and the hotel is in a good tourist spot. We had a good experience and I’ll definitely return.
