Side Lilyum Hotel & Spa

The shuttle to the beach was great, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is centrally located but quiet, with mostly older guests, though families came too. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return. We've already recommended it to others. There's good food and you can always find something you like. Wi-Fi works well throughout the hotel and even recently by the sea. Entertainment is limited, so this isn't for anyone wanting action or a party. There are three standard slides and a small children's pool, with hardly any activities. The mini club was often empty. We didn't try the spa. Service at the stage in the evenings took ages. Waiting at least 45 minutes for something was common, so it was quicker to get it yourself. Sometimes there were no seats even before the show had started, which we didn't like. There should be space for all the guests.

The staff looked after us well, and the entertainment team were consistently attentive. Still, it was clear that regular guests got better, faster, and friendlier treatment. We were a family travelling with another couple, and it was our first visit. It also felt like a hotel aimed more at older guests, at least in October. The hotel is small, charming, and easy to get around, but had everything we wanted. We made good use of the spa, pool, bar, and beach areas. At breakfast, lunch, and dinner the buffet had options for everyone, with hot, cold, and sweet snacks available through the day.

There's not much to complain about: the staff are fantastic, the beach is great, and the food is good. The entertainment is the main thing that could be better, though it seems to have been mostly given up, which is understandable to some extent. Many older guests don't join in and just grumble. For example, they ask why Turkish music is playing, when we're in Turkey. It's a shame that so many hotels here have dropped their own identity and play only German pop and similar music.

The entertainment is enjoyable and there's no pressure to join in. Even at the end of the season, everyone is making an effort to keep guests happy. It's a lovely, small, family-friendly hotel. This is our fifth stay, and we'll definitely come back. Anyone looking for something to complain about can find it, but to us those are just very minor nitpicks.
