Sunlight Garden Hotel

The staff are what made this holiday special. Erkan, Erdem, Ercan, Mehmet, Ali & Ahmet were so friendly and helpful, and everyone else was lovely too. We'll be back soon ❤️👋🌴 I was nervous after reading the negative reviews, but the hotel turned out to be great. The room was cleaned well, and the food was tasty, well cooked, and varied. Even picky eaters would find something, and there was always food available.

The room was okay, and the food was acceptable but nothing special. Some staff were friendly, though a few seemed passive and not very interested in guests. The location was decent, but a little far from the central areas and the beach. Guests can take a free bus to the beach. We did have ants and one cricket in our room, but staff cleaned up and the bugs went away.

We had a decent holiday here with my partner and our five children, though a few details could have made it much better. The location was good, about a 10 minute walk from the beach, with a free bus as another option. Since it was the start of the season, we nearly had one of the pools to ourselves, and there was a good choice of food all week. Some things felt inconsistent. The pool bar changed whether coffee was free from one day to the next, even though it was the same bar and staff. Every kind of cocktail had a charge. We looked at the tattoo studio at the hotel, but after hearing the price, I went to a place just outside that had great reviews and paid less than half. When the studio guy saw I'd had the tattoo done elsewhere, he was rude and kept calling the work “crap.” The hair salon was good, but the quoted price for my two youngest children's coloured braids suddenly went up by €10 each for extra braids they'd chosen. The drains in the villa smelled very bad in the mornings. We had to open the windows and doors as soon as we woke up. Housekeeping was hit and miss too. They emptied the bins but left rubbish bags on the stairs. They took the balcony ashtray and left its lid, then the next day took the lid and left neither. I used an empty can, which they put inside by the fridge. We started with about eight bathroom towels, then had five by midweek and three near the end. I had to ask reception for more. We also booked an excursion through the onsite rep, a zoo with lion cubs and a boat and mountain trip around Green Canyon lake. I'll review that separately, since it was shocking and wasn't really the hotel's fault. It was run by an outside company called duno safari.

For the price, this was a very good experience. The hotel isn't especially luxurious, but it had what we needed for a comfortable stay. The all inclusive setup offered plenty of fresh, healthy food to choose from. It was frustrating that people seemed allowed to reserve loungers by the pool with towels. The entertainment was fine, though it seemed more suited to adults than teenagers.
