Avalon Beach Hotel - All Inclusive

Kizilot

A nice, cozy hotel.

Even one star feels like too much. This hotel is disgusting, and the problems began at the entrance. We booked months ahead, but when we arrived our room wasn't ready. They were handing out rooms from a waiting list, so we had to wait. Room cleaning meant making the beds and hanging our towels on the balcony. They didn't wipe the floors, dust, or clean the bathroom and toilet. The water was cut off at times, and when we asked for fresh towels, we were told there weren't any. The TV, phone, and internet didn't work. The minibar smelled awful when we arrived. We reported it to reception repeatedly for two days until they replaced it, but the replacement was still dirty, so we couldn't put anything in it. The food was terrible apart from breakfast. The same evening meal was served again at lunch the next day, and the plates, glasses, forks, spoons, and knives were all dirty. The hotel is falling apart, with no organization and no clear idea of who does what. Everyone seems to do everything, while cleanliness and hygiene are at zero. There were too few sunbeds on the beach, and usually we couldn't find a place. There was no entertainment and not even music, so we just heard the neighboring hotels' music at the beach. Parking was also inadequate, with cars left outside. When we raised these problems, nobody responded or tried to fix them. Instead, staff insisted the hotel was neat and clean and even tried to bet their vacation with us. I would never recommend it or go near it again. It was a waste of money and time.

I checked in yesterday, expecting the arguments I had seen in the reviews, but the place is nothing like that. Maybe those people are used to having chefs from five different countries at home if they thought the food was inedible or that they'd starve without gözleme. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all very good, and the plates and glasses were clean. Some even said they wash their own dishes at home! The pool was spotless despite claims that it was dirty. There was entertainment, too: the animation team kept trying to put on activities almost every hour, looked after the children, and held a mini disco for them each evening. Music played by the pool all the time, and the drinks were very good. The sea was quite rocky, which was the one downside. The hotel offers what it promised, but don't expect the comfort of a five-star place. You won't be disappointed when you arrive, though, and all the staff are friendly and helpful as much as they can.
